After a long, tough winter at Oak Knoll, it’s time for golfers to knock the rust off their clubs and get ready for tournament season, which officially begins in March. As usual, the season kicks off with the Harold Kea Match Play Championship, which will be contested on the weekend of March 20-21 and coincides with the beginning of spring.
The event is played in memory of Harold Kea, who was a long-time member of Oak Knoll and a Club Champion in five different decades. Unlike the Club Championship, this tournament is a match play event, which pits golfer against golfer instead of golfer against the golf course. This type format allows for aggressive play, and the flow of the match can produce exciting golf.
Defending champion Steve Hebert has already committed to the field and hopes to achieve yet another major win at Oak Knoll.
Remember, there is an MGA event this Saturday at Oak Knoll. Call the golf shop to sign up for both events.

Friday, March 5 is a happy day at Oak Knoll CC as the “Cart Path Only” rule has been lifted. The only restrictions that remain for carts on path will be on holes #2, #3, and #10. Come on out and enjoy a ride in a cart. With a great weekend forecast the remaining holes on the path should be lifted as the turf regains its firmness.

- Look at this beautiful sunshine.
Finally!! The forecast for the week is the best we’ve had in quite some time. Only small chances of rain over the next ten days. Check out the local weather.
With this sunshine, our golf cart restrictions should be lifted no later than Friday. Perhaps some holes will be the 90 degree rule by Thursday.
